What else do I need to connect to Internet if I have a wireless PCMCIA card?

Hi Guys.

I have a laptop with PCMCIA card slot.

I don't have an internet connection.

If I buy a wireless PCMCIA card, Is it enough to connect to internet? What else I need to connect to internet? like router, broadband connection or free wifi or Cell phone with inetrnet.

Please include every single thing that I need to access internet.

I'm assuming you are referring to broadband Internet or wireless Internet. You'll need a broadband modem (this can be DSL modem or a cable modem depending on your preferred ISP) and a broadband connection from your Internet service provider (ISP). It'll be either a cable provider (for cable Internet) or a telephone provider (for DSL). If you are going to use wireless Internet, you will need a wireless router as well as a wireless PCMCIA card.

You can also get a wireless PCMCIA card as well as wireless Internet from a cell phone provider. However, cell phone providers charge a lot of money for Internet access and PCMCIA card. So unless you are planing to have the Internet on the go, I wouldn't recommend getting Internet through a cellphone provider.

So the bottom line is if you need wireless Internet, you will need a wireless PCMCIA card (you don't have to have a PCMCIA card, you could also get a USB connection as well), wirelss router, and a broadband Internet service. If you just need broadband Internet connection, then you will just need the broadband connection.
