How can i know the type of my pc memory, graphic card, cpu, etc and what type am i able to upgrade them to?
I bought a gateway desktop a year and half ago and right now its crappy and i want to upgrade the graphic card and RAM but i dont know what type should i buy.i cant recognize their types by going to device manager from my computer>properties.Also tell me if i need new power for the system.
get BELARC ADVISOR for free (belarc.com) and it will tell you what's in your PC.
go to www.crucial.com and run their RAM tool to tell you what RAM you've got and what you can get.
Good video cards require a lot of power, so you'll need to see what the power supply is rated at. Probably have to open the case to see what it is, unless it is viewable on the back.
As for AGP or PCI for video card, look at the motherboard and see what it has. Might not have either. Some low end boards only support integrated video w/ no upgrade options.
