Is it safe to buy a refurbished game system?
Well, if you do buy it from a retail store (i.e. Game Stop) then it's not a bad idea. Usually they have a 30day return policy on all purchased goods.
So, I would recommend that you, or whoever you buy it for, plays the HELL OUT OF IT within that 30days. This is just to make sure that the condition doesn't further deteriorate after purchase.
Once you've ran it through the wringer within the days of warranty; Make sure it doesn't show signs of defect. If it does, then return it. If not, then you have yourself a solid working game console!
