For a 1994 Buick Skylark is there a fuse for the radiator coolant fan.What else do I check if fan isn,t workin
Just replaced leaking radiator in 94 Buick Skylark. Noticed that coolant fan is not turning on.Is there a fuse in the fuse box that could be blown? If not then is it controled by a sensor? Where is that sensor located? I can swap out the fan w/ either a new or used one but first want to know if it could be a fuse problem. I also realize I can slpice into the wires, run one to the battery to ckeck the fan but before I do all that...is there a fuse? 1994 Buick Skylark 3100 sfi 6 cyl. Thanks...you guys are great.
Ok first things first. The coolant fan comes on under 2 conditions. One) it always comes on when the ac or defroster is on. 2) when the engine temp gets to 222 0r so then it kicks on also. Once you have verified that your connections are good and the above conditions have been met and still doesnt kick on try this: Take the fan out and apply direct battery voltage to the fan. If it kicks on the fan is good..check your wiring and relay. If it doesnt, replace it.There is a fuse so consult manual for location..but just grab a test light and turn key on and check all the fuses.
