Do you need both an HDMI cable and a optical digital audio cable for surround sound to work on Vizio HDTV?
I currently only hae my HDMI cable connected to my vizio 50" HDTV which has Digital Dolby 5.1 surround sound and all, but does the HDMI carry sound with it to enable that or do I need a optical digital cable too? HELP!
Obviously I am talking about my Xbox 360 connecting to my HDTV.
HDMI should also carry digital sound to the the telly.You may need set an override on the equipment that is connecting to the hd TV. such that it sends digital sound over HDMI to the telly
