Any laptops in the market with a built-in power supply?
I haven't seen this sci-fi concept implement since the Compaq Armada somewhere in 1998. The latest cell phone AC adapters, and particularly the integrated AC supply in the new Mac Mini reminded me that this is more feasible than ever.
You know you HAVE to plug your notebook to the wall pretty often, and honestly how often do you haul it without the power adapter and its weight anyway. It makes perfect sense... isn't it time?
From the Laptops on the market today, you know the charger gets reasonably warm when charging the battery, so to dissipate the heat would be the draw back, to putting it inside the laptop which is getting thinner? I agree your onto something, I tend to carry a spare battery as well, to cut down on short term charging, that gives me 4 hours on battery,and I can leave my charger pack at home if I plan my day right? Solar power may be the way to go? You can get them for mobile phones, if you going camping or hiking?
