Can you manually increase the fan speed on a laptop?
Unlike most people, I am wanting to INCREASE the fan speed on my laptop. It gets hot after a while and I was wondering if there is a utility I can use to shove the fan speed up to get rid off the heat. I tried SpeedFan but that doesn't think the fans exist. Does anyone have a good app that can help me? The laptop is a Samsung Q45, specs can be found via Google.
SpeedFan or any other software application can only operate the interfaces exposed by the hardware, BIOS, and operating system. But I've found that SpeedFan's author is pretty good about issuing patches and updates for new chipsets, if you can determine what kind of fan controller you machine is using.
