Why is Apple's RAM upgrade for a Mac mini so expensive vs from a 3rd party vender, eg Crucial.?
An upgrade from 2 gigs to 8 gigs of RAM during customization on Apple's website costs $450. But an 8 gig kit from Crucial only costs $140. The difference is even greater since Apple's price is for an upgrade and they're saving on the 2 gigs that they would put in if I don't choose the upgrade. So my question is this: Is this a no-brainier or is there some difference between the RAM that I'm not seeing? I'm sure it's a no-Brainer and Apple is just overcharging, but I just wanted to make sure there's no difference in the RAM. These look the same to me:
