Is it true that a Star Wars mini series is being made?
I heard that they were going to creae a TV Series based on the side characters of Star Wars - anyone heard any more?
100% true and confirmed by Lucas in a recent edition of Entertainment Weekly although the term "mini series" isn't really an accurate description of what it will be.
It will be a live action TV series set in between ep III and ep IV. As someone else said, it will NOT have any of the "main" characters in it ... they will of course be mentioned but will always be in the back ground. There have been unconfirmed rumors that Boba Fett will be in it but the others in it will be minor characters that formed the Rebel Alliance and will chronicle their early battles against the Empire leading up to the events of ep IV. Target date for this is fall of 2010.

EDIT: Yeah the start date has been pushed back a couple times ... when first announced it was supposed to be the fall of 2009. Info from the net has said that Lucas has been doing casting for it since Jan this year and has about 2/3s of the roles cast, surprisingly there haven't been any "rumors" as to who has been cast for any of the roles ... rumor has it that Lucas is almost finished with the first season of scripts. Lucas has also stated that no matter what the show will run for 100 episodes at the very least. Probable outlets are either TBS or TNT ... the wild rumors going around that it will be on HBO are just not feasible and though they have not been debunked by Lucas it seems like a long shot that he would put it on a "pay" channel.
