this is whats happened, and my warrenty has run out.can anyone help?
yea i have tried pushing it back together, but pops back out again.
Depends on how mechanically inclined you are. With CARE, you may be able to superglue the hinge back together. I say 'care' because you don't want that glue to stick the moving part of the hinge together, right? lol! I'm talking a coupla' drops, here and there. I've seen laptops hinges on Ebay. Again it depends on how mechanically inclined you are. You have to remove the AC adapter, if plugged in, and the battery. Then it's usually removing a strip in front of the keyboard,(Below the LCD screen), and the keyboard, to access four screws for the hinges. Two for each side. Usually there are two small cables that go from the laptop, to the LCD screen. Then two screws are removed for each hinge on the back of the laptop. There may be a cover for each hinge that you have to un-snap out of the way. (Plastic, use care so you don't break them!) Now you should be at the spot where you can replace the hinge. Am I advising you to do this? No. Just want to tell you what's possible. I will say that it doesn't take a rocket scientist! Not sumthing your computer geek, at the computer shop wants you to know. Just for your edification, sum info, and vids on the above subject. ( Won't show YOUR laptop of course, {?} but after you repair a few of these, you realize that they are pretty much all the same. Some of the older ones were tougher to take apart, but even they become easier after experience.
(Again, just info. Don't want you to do this, and something happens to your laptop, then you blame OL'Chickster! lol!)

Now under 'Choose a Model', click on the green button, 'Select a Model'. Click on laptop. ('Natch!) Then under 'Select a Product Line', click on yours, then under 'Product Model' again click on yours. I'm going to go with a Inspiron 1520, for an example. (Click on 'Confirm' green button)
I waited a coupla' seconds, and then this screen came up.

I speak English, so this is what I'll click on.
Hopefully for your laptop, there will be a listing on the left side of this page that states, 'Service Manual'. If so, go to the right and click on View, (With HTML to the right of it) This gives you the Service Manual, without having to download.

(It's best to read the 'Before You Begin'. Discusses static electricity, and how to avoid static while working on your laptop. Mentions an ESD wriststrap, which can be obtained thru a store like Radio Shack, or online like TigerDirect, etc. About $8 to $10 dollars for piece of mind.
Clicking on 'Hinge Cover' shows you how to remove and replace the hinge cover.

(This guy did this directly on a carpet floor. A definate No-No! Static! I think he did it for clarity purposes in filming, and wasn't worried about the laptop. I'd advise working on a laptop up on a table, not your bed, or the couch! lol! Static!)

(Ummm, don't know.Vid is kinda' darkish, needs more light. However it's more info.) Some laptops do have a stick or two of ram memory under the keyboard. It is best to remove them, to prevent static shock to them. Harddrives may be located under the keyboard also. Most of the ones I repair can be accessed from the front edge of the laptop, so I spaced this.
