Dell XPS laptop won't start up, can't get to BIOS screen?
My 4 year old XPS M170 has always worked fine. I turned it off last night, as I always do, and when I turned it on this morning it was just a black screen. I restarted it several times, nothing. No BIOS, no Dell logo, I don't know what to do. I can't call dell as I am out of warranty. The screen is on, its just showing black. Please help!
most likely it is your graphic card which would be monolithic with the mother board. there is not much you can do.
try to pull out the battery and restart. try to run it at external monitor.
did your laptop over heated recently?
there are some less likely reasons. but if all above did not work then you need a technician.
there is a big chance that the cost will be high considering the current market value of your machine.
if you wizard with electronics, you can buy a 2nd hand motherboard and replace it ( providing the fault is the motherboard ).
