How do I set Vista to request permission before restarting to complete automatic updates?
I just lost two hours' work because I didn't notice a screen that was trying to tell me it'd restart my computer in five minutes unless I postponed. Is there a way to set this so that it needs my permission? I don't want this to happen again, and I often leave my computer on when going from class to class.
Go into your control panel, find Windows Security Center, automatic updating, and change settings.
From there, you can tell the computer to ask first, inform but don't download, and download but don't install as options.
