I have an HDTV and Satellite Receiver. My red colour is completely gone from my TV. Green and Blue both work?
but my red for some reason doesn't. Can I buy a new component wire, such as one made by Monster? Will it work if I hook it up from my Satellite Receiver to my HDTV? Or do I have to use the same cord my satellite provider gave to me?
Check to see what the picture is like for an off-the-air signal. If red is still missing the problem is inside your TV set and it is a potentially catastrophic problem inside the "picture tube". Oh that needs translation for you - "picture valve". Anyway, get ready for the possibility of some expensive bad news.
If the red is OK then the TV is OK and you have to back up through your system until you find where the red gets lost. Could be in a cable or in the set top box. If you have easy access to another cable or set top box then swap them out and see if the red returns.
