i have problem with my RAM.even though i have a 128 of RAM the pc ony registers it as 64 why is/this?
my CPU is an AMD Sempron socket 754 2800+,MSI motherboard is K8 754, K8M800, 8237R plus 6ch audio, 10/100 LAN, (RoHS), (IDE, SATA,*1, SATA POWER*1 CABLES
There are many possible reasons for this, the two most likley ones however are..
Paired ram in contigous banks.
You will have 4 simm/Dimm/memory slots on the mainboard.
1-2-3-4
Insert one 'simm/dimm/card' of ran into #1 and the second into #3. This may fix the problem.
The other and most messy one is one of the sticks are bad. If your using only 128mb of ram; this is very possible.
