Elongated-designed Ping G15 Fairway Wood

The elongated, low profile design of the G15 Fairway Wood offers a long, forgiving option for golfers who rely on the confidence of a larger head. An external weight pad on the sole of the stainless steel head positions the center-of-gravity low and farther back to provide higher trajectories and increased distance.

As far as color combinations go, red and black have seemed to be the rave for the past few years and PING joins in with their offering on the G15. The sole mixes in a nice amount of black, red and silver to make the G15 esthetically pleasing to the eye for the rare instances you are actually looking at the sole.

The G15 pulls off that shot quite easily as the ball is launched quickly and effortlessly. Regardless of being in the light rough or the fairway, the sole interacts with the ground smoothly and the distance was pretty impressive. The G15 makes going for par five's in two a whole lot more entertaining.

I've been using the same three-wood for the past three years and though I've tested out my fair share since then, I hadn't found one that made me want to make a change until now. With the Serrano shaft, the G15 works out very nicely for my swing and with as forgiving as the head is, it was a no-brainer to make the switch. I've been quite impressed with the results I got with the G15 and if you're in the market for a new fairway wood, I would highly recommend adding it to your list.

Golfers' review:

I played a round with the G15 3wood 15.5 with the TFC reg shaft and loved it. Nice high stright flight and good contact in the semi rough. I may try it with the Serrano shaft though before splashing out.

I have the 17 degree fairway 4 with the Serrano shaft, and I really like it. It is a forgiving club that keeps the ball in the middle. Using the 4 enabled me to replace my Taylor Made 3W and 5W, so I could add a wedge. The 17 degree is actually longer than my old 3, and I can choke up a little to bring the distance down to the 5W area, with the Ping being more consistent than my old FW.

Yet again Ping has really delivered for the mid to high handicappers with this excellent fairway wood. The technology draws heavily on the changes made in the G15 driver and the results are similarly positive. Ping promise this is an easy club to get up in there and so it proves. It performs well both off the deck and from a tee and gives a consistent enough performance to be a decent replacement for the driver (although you won't have a lot of trouble hitting the G15 driver). I actually felt this was consistently longer than the old G10 fairway wood and that, combined with the excellent forgiveness, should be enough to persuade a lot of people to upgrade. I'd certainly consider making room for it my bag.

The new Ping G15 range of fairway woods have kept the best of the excellent G10 fairway and improved on some aspects to give a truly versatile fairway wood that should appeal to all types of player. With a slightly shallower face (that Ping tell us contribute to increased MOI) that adherents of the G10 will notice the club looks slightly more assured at address than its predecessor and it appears to provide a slightly more elevated trajectory from a solid strike. The G15 is as forgiving as the G10 fairway and is still pretty impressive in the distance stakes.

I've been searching for a good 3 wood without much success. Hit about every club made at demo days. My favorite that I had hit at a few demo days was the G-15 fairway wood. found a used one for great price look like been hit two or three times. This is by far the straightest and longest 3 wood i have ever hit. I would recommend to anyone.
