Changing TYPE of RAM?
Okay, I have a Dell Dimension 8100 with the stupid/expensive RDRAM. I am not going to spend the money on that.
I have 512MB right now. How do I change the type of RAM (ex. DDR 2) my comp takes? Do I need to change my Motherboard? What would It take. I'm looking for at least 1GB of RAM.
(I am NOT buying a new computer. I think I may build my on in a year or two anyway, but I would like to know this for now. Thank you so very much.)
You can't change the type of RAM used. The motherboard determines the types, speeds, and capacities of RAM you can install.
Save the money and apply it towards the purchase of a new system, either a home-built system or a bare-bones prebuilt system.
