Where can I get PC800 "RAMBUS RIMM" for a SONY VAIO... not ordinary DDR RAM,...but RAMBUS RIMM?
I am still using the original 128mb of RAM that came with my Sony Vaio PCV-RX465DS. I bought this computer back in 2001, I would like to get more RAM. Its expandable to 512mb....I know, I know , its a relic, but hey, I cannot for the life of me find this particular type of RAM. Aside from it being slower from when it was new, to present day when its 80gb of disk space is almost used up, I've had no real grief with it. Yes I am gonna back up all the media etc. and dump a bunch of things, but still Where O where can one get this PC-800 RAMBUS RIMM sticks of memory. They must come in pairs. 2x64mb...2x128....or 2x256mb's.

You'll notice that it's very expensive compared to modern DDR RAM. It's because RAMBUS is an abandoned, obsolete standard. To put 2 256MB sticks of RAM in your PC (which appears to be the maximum), it's looking to be about $200, give or take. Something you have to consider is how much return that's going to get you for your money, when you could instead put that $200 to a whole new machine. Just something to keep in mind.
