I just went through the same delemia as you did. I was looking at the HP Pavilions and found only a few with what I needed. The computer that you get the most out of (out of the ones you have selected) Would be the Gateway.
That computer has an ENORMOUS hard drive for a laptop. You could try and try, and have a hard time filling it up. The Gateway also sports a good deal of RAM, which is a lightning fast type of memory that greatly improves a computers speed. The gateway has 3GB of this memory, which is all you can use in Vista...
Finlay the gateway had a decent processor that will take care of most of your computing needs in a flash.
Remember that these computers are lower quality and have a tendency to break, as they are super cheap....
