what is the difference between an AMD processor and a Intel processor?
With the introduction of the 64 bit AMD processors, is there anything that Intel came out with that is 64 bit, and if I am looking at buying a computer, which is better for the money: an AMD 64 bit processor, or a Intel (I am looking at purchasing this computer, so that I won't have to upgrade for vista...) Also if the 64 bit is better, then where can I find the windows XP 64 bit OS, and does it make that big of a difference???
To answer your question I am going to assume that you are considering the purchase of a computer system.
AMD and INTEL are the two market leaders in the pc CPU manufacturing space - Intel currently leads by a fair amount. Both of them offer great quality products, but what matters is what you are planning to use the new computer for.
If budget is your top concern AMD will probably be your best bet. If gaming or graphics, again probably an AMD although Intels latest dual core processors are very powerful. If you need the computer for business use and utmost reliabilty and quick service if needed I would suggest going with an Intel based system (including the motherboard) - If you are planning on buying an AMD system I would suggest using an ASUS or ABIT brand motherboard. These can be built by any computer shop near where you live, and can be serviced a lot faster than most name brand pc's. Hope this helps, and good luck.
