Processor Heatsink
I touched the heatsink when the processor is running at 70 degree Celsius ?
i am using AMD phenom 9550 CPU.
I noticed in
1)ASUS PC probe
2)speedfan
3)BIOS
that my CPU is at 70
and in coretemp it is at 60 and i touched the heatsink at that temp then i can hold it for more than 30 seconds.
Can i do this or did the software telling lie.
The heatsink will often be much cooler than the CPU, that's its job. That heatsink is VERY efficient at siphoning away heat. Plus the fan is a huge component.
I once changed out the power supply on a dual core Xeon server we had. Unfortunately we missed the CPU fan. One hour later the server shut itself down due to thermal alarms. When I got in to fix it, you could literally fry an egg on the heat sink.
