Any Dell Dimension 4550 power supply upgrade recommendations?
I want to play WoW on my desktop, but all the good graphic cards require a good psu. I currently have a 250w(same one that came with the system). I don't know what to look for when it comes to this hardware. Also, if you have a recommendation or any info that doesn't require me having to pay for this psu and instead getting another graphic card please do. BTW if you can find the hardware on prefered Microcenter.com please post the link. Thank You!!!
It is nearly IMPOSSIBLE on a microATX or SLIMLINE type computer to find any power supply above 350 Watts. I am assuming this is what you have since you have a measly 250 Watt right now.
The problem is the size of the case, it cannot fit the bigger power supplies into and the other thing is the proprietary power connectors.
See this dell techical doc, of course, they don't show you the connectors - what should I expect from those Dilberts?

Just looking at those drawings, I think you are out of luck myself.
This is an old computer with AGP video graphics, so is it worth trying to keep alive?
