What happens after a successful driving test?
Do they post you your license? Are you allowed to drive a car (insured) immediately or do you have to wait for your card? Any other info good too.
Assuming you have a photocard licence rather than the old paper licence without the photocard, the examiner will issue you with a pass certificate and keep your provisional licence photocard and counterpart.
You will be issued with your full licence by post which would normally arrive within a couple of weeks.
If you have the old style licence, you will need to send your licence and the pass certificate off the DVLA and they will then issue you with your full licence. You have two years in which to do that.
In either case, you can drive straight away as long as you are insured fully on the vehicle.
