I accidentally plugged the 20 + 4 pin main cable into the 4 pin CPU socket. Do you think my processor is sh?
you know how power supplies come with the 20 + 4 pin connectors? well i negligently plugged the 4 pin cable (from the 20 + 4 pin cable) into my 4 pin CPU socket. I also plugged the remaining 20 pins into the 24 pin motherboard socket. Do you think that fried my CPU? or my motherboard? or both?
Ultimately you can answer this question pretty quickly by finding out if it still boots and doesn't BSOD every couple of minutes.
Both sets of 4 pin connections would be going through power regulation circuitry anyway and that is what would have gotten damaged if anything did.
I am guessing that they would not be able to be activated due to the way transistors and diodes work and there won't be anything to be concerned about. That is, unless it no longer powers on or BSODs every couple of minutes.
