What type of bus would you recommend for a computer that has the flexibility to attach a variety of expansion?
What type of bus would you recommend for a computer that has the flexibility to attach a variety of expansion boards? EISA, MCA, ISA or PCMCIA?
A number of factors - What type of expansions are you doing? How much money do you have? MCA is the old IBM standard and is unlikely to have many cards available for it;If your machine is EISA ( the majority are) then you need an EISA card to fit it;ISA is out of date now, only second-hand cards available;PCMCIA is the laptop expansion standard. EISA is probably the fastest although I2O is better ( a lot more expensive). PCMCIA the easiest , if you have a laptop.
