express card on new laptop mobile pcmcia card wont fit?

hi just bought a new laptop it has this new express card slot instead of a pcmcia slot, spoke with t mobile who provide it they say they are looking at bringing out a usb dongle that u can put ur sim card in to access the net on the move but not for a few months, anyone know of a way round this in the interim thanks

I had the same problem with a customer machine, and called Verizon, who supplied the card.

The story that I got from them was that "some" laptops have a dual-peronsality PC card slot... and that you can fit the Express card in the same socket as PCMCIA cards, provided you align it carefully to one side.

In my case, it worked, but I'd check with the lpatop makers first.

And you may want to try this with the laptop turned off...
