Why does my laptops battery go out in about 10-20 minutes when the charger is not plugged in?
I have a Sony Vaio Windows Vista Home Premium, Model: PCG-7V2L Model name: VGN-FE880E.
I had it since 2007 when it first came out.
And the battery goes to full then in like 10-20 minutes (litteraly) it goes out.
Batteries have a finite lifespan.
Normal usage and re-charging them wears them out, but this lifespan is usually around 100,000 hours.
If the battery is fairly new, it could be damaged by misuse or even a voltage spike. There is also the rare possibility that you just have a bad battery. Sony had a recall on some of their Vaio notebooks, you should contact them or search Google to see if your model was affected.
