Upgrade to fingerprint reader HP ProBook 4520s?
I have an HP ProBook 4520s that I bought without the optional fingerprint security scanner. I want to purchase the OEM part that is the palm rest that includes both the touchpad and the fingerprint scanner. I know the touchpad probably plugs into the motherboard somehow; but even though my computer did not come with the fingerprint scanner will I be able to use it/is there a plugin on my motherboard for it?
I do have the driver for the scanner available for download, so that is not an issue. I just want to know if the motherboard will already be compatible, or if both the touchpad and fingerprint scanner plug in with the same cord.

yes it is compatable(as long as it is the same exact model) but you need to buy the oem part and you also need to buy the case that comes with the fingerpint reader model, and fyi dont do it all by yourself, you really should have someone experienced with laptops you dont know how tight things are inside there laptops arent nearly as forgiving as a desktop, expect to do at least 10 hours of work on it to get it completely up and running
