Why are both the Atlantic/Pacific greenish on the USA side but beautiful blue in Europe, South America, Austra?
On the east coast of the continental United States (in most places) the water is greenish, as well as on the west coast. Why is the same ocean a beautiful blue in other places like Australia, Hawaii, Spain, etc?
The color of the water is mostly affected by the color of the sand beneath it as well as its depth. White sands under shallow water will produce the most beautiful blues. Also, a lot of algae or seaweed can turn water green.
