Why my Intel original CPU fan bought in 2004 is noisy?
The sound like hair dryer in low speed.
At my school the computer is not noisy at all
I could feel when I bought it. It was noisy like this.
How to clean it? I know it must be bearing noise, but I could not split it apart and clean it.
At school, my ear has to be very close to the computer case to hear the noise.
If you can't or won't buy a new fan then you might get a few months (or even years) more out of it by relubing the bearings.
Go to Tandy or Mr Smith's and get a little syringe unit with silicone lube in it (it's like oil but doesn't vaporise or attract as much dust) they have a nice thin non-spikey needle on the end and you should be able to poke it into or near the center of the fan an squeeze some in.
Very handy buggers to have around - for all sorts of things.
