I need a new power supply for my comupter.The old one a okia atx 420. what I need to know is what can I replac

Yes you can replace this yourself.
First ascertain the power output by looking at the tiny writing on the power supply - it will be something like 350W or 400W or something like that. Next, decide if this was adequate for your computer needs, or are you planning on upgrading it in the near future with a power hungry device (i.e. are you adding a DVD burner later?). It's okay to put a higher rated P/S in.
Then go to www.pricewatch.com. You can search the part by either the vendor, P/S rating or manufacturer.
After purchase, follow the instructions that come with it. If no instructions, put the new P/S next to the old, and carefully plug corresponding colored wires from the old to the new P/S.
Warning - replacing your power supply usually voids any warrenty on the computer so do this at your own peril.
Warning #2 - As with any computer hardware - static electricity is your enemy - protect against it. Do this on an antistatic mat, or with an antistatic wriststrap on.
You've just saved yourself up to $75.00 bench fee a computer store would charge you for doing this - celebrate by taking your spouse to dinner - I recommend Italian!
