Notebook Memory !!!?
I just purchased a Dell Inspiron E1405 notebook computer. It supposedly has 60 GB of Hard Disk memory, but whenever I install a new program (that the add/remove menu displays as taking up less than 100 MB of memory) or save a small file, I check the hard disk memory and it reduces over 1 GB !!!!!
What could be the reason for such a significant decrease in the memory, and how would I resolve the problem??
Memory and disk space are different things.
"Add/Remove" programs is often very wrong - not only about the programs installed, but about how "often" they are used, and the disk space they take up. You can check the exact amount of disk space used by right-clicking over the directory you created for the install - that will give you a good idea.
