why is it bad to use 4 sticks of ram in a 4 slot motherboard?
Ive just brought 4 sticks of 1GB the same brand to put in my motherboard.. now i read thats bad!..how bad is it?
it does say it supports upto 8g, just beenr eading soem ones post on here and it says using 4 sticks dosnt ALLWAYS work... :/
p.s my operating system is a 64bit
Who said 4x1024MB memory was bad? Tell me who wrote that. Tell me. Haha!
Of course if you have 4 slots on your motherboard, some people will say it's bad to fill all of them regarding if you want to upgrade even more. (if your motherboard supports up to 8 GB for instance, you would need to replace every single stick with 2GB ones and dispose of what you just bought)
When not using Windows Vista x64, and the rare applications that support more physical memory usage than 3GB, 4 GB is the right high size for a 32 bits applications environment. 1 more gigabyte on that kind of system and you might not even notice the difference, but you will notice the price it cost.
Microsoft also stated that the 4th gigabyte was not entirely reported but they fixed it with a couple articles to work this out, and if OS is Vista the SP1 should solve the issue as well. See my source links.
Hey, I'm going to do the same. I'll buy 2 more 1024GB memory sticks and reach the same level. How bad is that??
