how to repair PCB trace on motherboard?
I caused a short circuit on a motherboard. There was a small flash, and a small bit of smoke and the PCB trace is now severed. The board has power and will start but will not post, instead it turns off the system after 2 seconds.
could soldering or using a trace pen to reconnect the PCB trace make the motherboard functional again?
You have a 50% chance to make it right, take of the board off then pull the cmos BATTERY off and just and case get you a new one, then use a spy glass to see the traces of the board then try to soldiering back again and pray.
