HELP with Dell XPS M1730 memory upgrade?

i have a Dell XPS m1730 with 2GB memory and im running vista, i was thinking of upgrading to the 8GB memory but what i would like to no, would DDR3 work on the xps, or is it just the DDR2 thats works,, also do anyone know the best memory to buy & from where..?

DDR3 is different to DDR2, so nope sorry ... square peg in square hole, round peg in round hole

Each memory slot can hold DDR2 PC2-5300,DDR2 PC2-6400 with a maximum of 4GB per slot

you already have a pretty decent to goodish graphics card and cpu & 4 GB ram should suffice for online gaming
