How do I check laptop motherboard?
My laptop has been having a problem where it doesn't recognize the power cord and constantly "forgets" that it's plugged in. I've been told that the problem is either the cord itself or the laptop motherboard. But is there any way to figure out which is the problem without spending money? Obviously the easiest solution is to just buy a new power cord and see if that fixes it, but is there any way I can see which is the problem without having to buy anything?
All laptops have an inherent problem in that the power socket becomes damaged over time and the laptop fails to charge.
You could try a new charger it may help but you probably need to replace the socket.
Unless you have certain acer models which plug in most power sockets are soldered onto the main board.
The actual socket is very cheap and if you now someone who is good at soldering its a cheap fix. You have to totally strip down the laptop down the laptop to the motherboard to do this but its not has hard as you would think,if you have patience.
A professional fix would be at least $100
