What might be causing my laptop monitor to not work?
I have a HP Pavilion dv5215us notebook. When I boot up my laptop, the loading screen is visible, however it is in a red tint. Then after it starts to boot up windows, it turns black. With a flashlight, i can clearly see the desktop. If i close and open monitor, it flickers the red tint, but then goes back to black(yet visible with a flashlight or close inspection). What do i need to replace? Inverter board? Back light? Any other lurking variables?
here are a couple of solutions you could try.
1. unplug/replug the battery
2. tilt it upside down, i had this problem once, i tilted it upside down and wen i turned it on again it worked for some reason.
3. take it to a hardware shop, they should be able to fix it.
4. maybe open it in safe mode.
