Laptop - Memory?
I have a Dell Studio 1535. I just figured that one of the memory sticks in my laptop stopped working. Can I buy a new memory stick or do I have to go to BestBuy, for example, and have one of the employers fix it? ORR do I have to send it to Dell and have them fix it?

The best way to do it would be to call up Dell guys and explain the matter to them. They will then ask you to send your computer to them and they'll fix it/change the memory for u. This method is good for two reasons: 1. You're going to the actual manufacturer to get replacements of your original hardware (cos sometimes if you get ur computer hardware replaced/fixed from somewhere else, Dell customer satisfaction representatives get to play the blame-game with you, which BTW, they immensely enjoy). 2. The memory will be 100% genuine (if its not, Dell has to give u a replacement). The only flip side is, it may take longer to send your laptop, them doing the work and sending it back to you.
If you are on a time crunch, it may be wise to get the memory replaced with the help of a Best Buy associate. That way you save a lot of time. Only flip side is that after the 30 day warranty period on the memory stick, if something goes wrong, Best Buy wont take responsibility for it.
So depending on how urgently you need to get your computer fixed, you can choose one of the options above.
