i am looking for laptop ..Intel Atom cpu is faster than the core 2 duo cup ?
i am planing to run linux ..ubuntu really ..so i am goin to get compiz working in 8.10 ..so need nice video card ... those in built intels are they good ? or do i need some thing really good ? like nvidia or ati ..cos i have buget ..so i was thinking might buy a used one ......
any tips to where to buy ?
1GB ram will be good ..do not care abour the screen size ...and dont mind with or with out dvd rom .... just need to run ubuntu 8.10 with all 3D effects so nned a very good video card ..yeah and wireless card will be good too ...£280-£320 ..wil be able to find one ...used or new or any other i dont care ?
Ok, that noob is who said Intel Graphics suck... shut it.
For Linux... Intel graphics work fine, I run Fed. Core 9 on mine with Compiz working fully. Intel integrated graphics @ 384MB.
I would show you a video of it but it only recorded at 10FPS so it looks choppier then it runs. I'll try to get a smoother video going, email me. Ekline@email.itt-tech.edu.
It's not Windows with tons of Memory leaks... lol It's Linux and it runs beautifully with less hassles of finding Nvidia graphics card drivers for Linux... have fun with that if you decide to do it.
REGARDING YOUR CPU QUESTION
Now it's no longer just Notebooks & Desktops. Today there's Notebooks, Desktops, and Internet Devices... Internet devices are just meant for browsing and maybe Music playback. Nothing big...
When you purchase the notebook w/ Intel Core2Duo, it's a real notebook.
