How to connect my desktop, laptop, mobile using router for file sharing?
I've a desktop(XP), a laptop(XP) and a Nokia 5800 mobile. I could connect to the internet using linksys wireless router from my computer, laptop or mobile. but I'm not able to share the folders among them. I can not change the workgroup name of the laptop as it belongs to my office domain. what should I do to share files among them?
From my experience before, you must set your workgroup name to be same between your desktop PC and laptop, also you need to set the same IP address and connect them using LAN cable directly or indirectly by using LAN Router.
If both of them has Wireless connection, you can connect them using Adhoc wireless connection, so your computer can be set easier than using LAN cable. You can find it in internet connection configuration from the Control Panel.
If you want to connect Nokia 5800 mobile, you can do it using Nokia USB cable and connect it to the desktop PC or laptop. If it can't be connected, probably you need to install hardware files that available from your Nokia CD, it is called "Nokia USB connect to PC"(or similar with it).
If you do that all, you can connect them as well as i do.
