Do IDE internal 1TB hard drives exist?
if yes then can you tell me some of the best brands that sell them
NewEgg does not list one, but I own a seagate that is 750gig. I think that the tetra byte drives are new enough that they typically are not backwards compatible with the (parallel) ATA interface.
On the other hand. assuming that you are capable of using USB, you can put whatever drive in an external case and use it from there. I can see no particular reason such a setup could not be used for program installation etc., and using USB 2.0, I suspect that you would not be terribly disappointed with the performance of the drive.
"gotcha's" that I can think of offhand are that as an external drive it will not be your "C:" drive, and speed is entirely reliant on the interface speed (the reason they developed SATA).
Depending on your motherboard ROMs, it might even be possible to boot off of such a drive, but I am skeptical that performance would be satisfactory.
