Connecting Dell Inspiron Laptop to Samsung Series 650 LCD TV?
I have connected the laptop and TV using the VGA connector. I have played with the resolution and found four that would work but have settled on the 1024 by 768 (suggested on some of the answers). I can see the background picture on the tv, the mouse shows up from time to time, and I have sound. But I have no I cons, and the tv screen does not change when changing programs on laptop. Any suggestions?
You have two monitors working, your TV is monitor 1 or 2. If you have your computer monitor and the tv on together you will find the mouse will move from the tv to the comuter monitor and back again.
That's becase you used the VGA connector and set it up to have dual screen.
You can set your settings to clone mode so what comes up on the monitor is what comes up on the screen.
Alternatively you can enjoy having a double sized desktop. You can move some applications on to your TV and keep some on your monitor and have two windows open at the same time on different screens.
