What constitutes changing of a motherboard?
My Dell Studio 15 received some light impact that caused the power button to pop out as well as a minor crack on the hinge. Dell said I need a new motherboard which is $200. Does this sound right? I kind of feel like i'm getting the run-around.
When the power button got popped off, it disconnected the wire that was attached to it so no way for it to power on. The impact was enough to pop the button off, disconnect the wire, and leave a crack in the hinge/top casing. As far as I can tell, nothing else was damaged.
That doesn't sound right at all..it sounds like just the outer casing was damaged. Shouldnt need more than just the top cover of the lower half of the laptop.
