Grabber Device

Does anyone know of a sturdy grabber that is similar to the Gopher as seen on tv, but wont break easily?

The Gopher is a wonderful grabbing device, but is much to delicate for constant use.

I had a shattered hip five years ago in a car accident and never fully recovered, and through being the world's biggest klutz, have the foot on the opposite leg broken.

I unintentionally break several gophers a year.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

I have been using this model https://2333078115.monstercommercesites.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=77 for three years. In that time, I have broken one and I really love it. I can even pick a dime up from a tile floor! I now have 3 of them; one in the kitchen, bedroom and living room. I just realized that the picture only shows one end and only one length. The grabber has a pistol grip. I hope you can tell that I really do like this model.
