Does refurbished xbox 360's have the jasper chip set?
I am buying a xbox 360 refurbished console on amazon.com. I want to know what chip set these have. Also I would like to know what causes the red ring of death and how I can best prevent it. And another thing I would want to know is if these consoles have any type of manufactures warranty with it. And if I would be unfortunate enough to get the RROD what would I have to do to get it fixed and is it going to cost me any extra money. Please be detailed in your answers so I can fully understand. Depends on when it was manufactured the first time. I doubt any refurbishers would install it themselves.
If you want to go the extra mile, you can try and have a look through the little side window which is used to scan the bar code on the 360. You're looking for the 12V rating which is left to the bar code. You need push the Xbox a bit to the right (and maybe even down) so you can get a glimpse at the rating. If it says 12.1A, then you're set, it is a Jasper model.
