FSB, Dual Channel RAM etc....?
I am going to order Dell Inspiron 640m laptop from Dell site.
My customization is in this way:
Intel Coe Duo T2250
1.73 GHz, 2MB Cache, 533 MHz FSB
2 GB 533 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
Will it be a good choice? What should I keep in mind about the relationship of RAM speed and CPU FSB?
Should I opt for both FSB and RAM to 667 MHz option. Will I get significant difference between 533 and 667?
Also please tell me if I choose a Dual Channel DDR2 RAM, will it have a significant advantage in performance?
That is a great start to a fast machine. The relationship of RAM speed to CPU FSB is not too relevant. If you can afford the upgrade, it will be faster to get the 667 MHz option. I would do it.
The memory upgrade will help as well. Any increase in speed will push the overall speed of the machine.
