We're up to $510, without looking for any bargains.
Allowing $50 for the DVD-RW, $20 for the sound card which doesn't really top the MB sound, $20 for speakers, $50 for a really nice Deluxe ATX Medium Tower Case, $50 for the keyboard and mouse, $10 for the Floppy drive and $20 for the NIC and $100 for XP Home we're up to about $830.
With a little bit of shopping around, you can probably cut this by a third to a half.
Looks like you're paying someone $260 to screw it all together for you. Probably a fair price. If they have been in business in the same area for over three years and give you a good guarantee, go for it. Get one for me too.
