How can I test if my ceiling fan motor is bad?
While installing new wall switches, I think I wired them backwards and burnt the motor in my fan. How can I check if the fan's motor is dead (or not)) assuming my new wiring set up is correct? Neither the fan or light works. The light bulbs are not burnt out, I have also confirmed the switches are recieving power.
I want to make sure it's not the wiring in case I have to buy a new fan and I can prevent this from happening again.

If the fan and light are both out then it is not wired right!
