Cannot remove CPU fan from CPU on T42 laptop?
I am replacing the CPU fan on a T42 laptop following the instructions in the Hardware Maintenance Manual.
But I cannot lift the fan from the GPU, I have applied a significant amount of force in the direction indicated by the HMM (pushing a lever between the fan and GPU).
I have removed the 3 screws from the fan assembly and removed the keyboard and wrist pad.
Has anyone does this that has any experience or thoughts that could help guide me?

I believe the clip is shaped like an M, so you have to apply pressure to the center to push the legs down and away from the downward facing thingy that it clips onto. Sideways pressure will only hang it up. That's all I know.
