How to optimize Core 2 Extreme QX9770 processor on a NVIDIA nForce 790i motherboard?
I currently have these items
Processor: Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9770 Yorkfield 3.2GHz 12MB L2 Cache LGA 775 136W Quad-Core Processor
EVGA 132-CK-NF79-A1 LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 790i Ultra SLI DDR3 ATX Intel Motherboard
I'm a bit of a hardware dummy so I need advice on which Graphics Card, Memory, and Cooling System I should buy. I want the best parts for gaming.
Also, does it help if I put in more than one graphics cards? and should I buy an audio card?
More than one graphics card (or SLI) would make your system almost twice as better as just one, so if you are a hardcore gamer and have the money, go for it.
on a graphics card, i reccomend the GeForce 8800 series for gaming. The GeForce 9600gt isnt bad either.
For memory, just get any that is 240 pinned. You motherboard says it needs DDr3, so make sure you get that. as for ram speed, 1066/1333/1600/2000 MHz are accepted on your motherboard, the high the # the better.
cooling system, i guess you can just use any that you'd like.. as for a soundcard, you dont need one seeing as your onboard audio is great.
That is one great computer though
