How many hours of movies would I be able to put on a 1TB External Hard Drive - eSATA, USB 2.0?
Also where would I be able to find one & how much do they usually cost?
Most the movies are 90 mins long (normal length movies). Over the years I have taped many movies off the tv that I would like to put on it.
Like if it is a 'Fantom GreenDrive 1TB External Hard Drive - eSATA, USB 2.0' how many hours of movies could be put on it? I had someone tell me that ALL my movies could be put on it (about 1500 movies I have taped over the years), but I want to know for sure.
They are not HD video they are just regular quality videos.
I want to make sure that I would be able to save my movies I have taped on VHS to this 1TB External Hard Drive before I ever go buy one.
It all depends on the video quality, HD movies take up a lot more space.
For instance:
An 1 hour, 50 minute HD video takes up 4.25gb
A 1 hour, 50 minute of regular quality takes up 725mb.
I have a 1TB SATA internal hard drive that I back up all of my DVDs and Blu-rays on.
My videos folder total 6,221 files at 675gb. Definitely worth having in case any of my DVDs get scratched or lost.
